2025…Here we go!

I never thought I’d say I miss an armband but every time I open my 

desk drawer it’s staring at me. I’m ready for a new one! This is the 

busy time of year for prep for everyone involved in setting up our 

events. From ordering new merchandise to BLM permits to maintenance needed, it starts long before we show up at El Mirage weekend 

opener on May 17th.

I wanted to center this Racing News issue on preparing for a new 

season of land speed racing. Whether you’re a veteran racer or brand 

new, the details do matter and all the information is a great reminder.

We raced our 1924 Harley in 2024 and it’s amazing what we forgot 

after a couple years off. We added stress to ourselves by not being 

fully prepared for inspection.

I had a call from George Callaway the other day. We chatted about 

life and racing and El Mirage conditions. At 92 he’s excited for a new 

season of racing on the dirt and the salt. We can only hope to repeat 

his legacy. Dust off your race vehicle and start the prep now.

As I write this, Dry Lakes Racing Australia will begin racing tomorrow.

We wish them good luck and safe racing. Yes. I’m very jealous!
